ACCOUNTING CLERK

Position Title: Accounting Clerk

Department/Location: Janko Hospitality Corporate Office

Accountable To: Chief Financial Officer

Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose:

Janko Hospitality is looking for someone who is good with numbers to join our corporate team as the Accounting Clerk.  This position is great for someone looking to launch their accounting career!  With a flexible schedule, this position will work 40 hours a week Monday thru Friday. 

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the inputting of all accounts payable invoices for our hotel portfolio. 

Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

  • Sort and match supporting documentation to invoices and set invoices up for payment

  • Process check requests

  • Prepare and process accounts payable checks

  • Reconciliation of payments

  • Vendor file Maintenance

  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries

  • Approve new vendors, ensure FEINs are collected for 1099’s

  • Review invoices for management approval, coding accuracy, and proper documentation

  • Ensure proper sales or use tax is charged on all invoices

 

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Reviewing employee information and working hours and calculating wages,

  • Preparing and processing employee payments,

  • Maintaining accurate payroll records,

  • Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns,

  • Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations

Skills and Experience Required

  • Hotel property experience preferred

  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated skill in exercising good judgement and decision making

  • Proactive approach, with exceptional initiative and problem-solving abilities to ensure the highest levels of productivity.

  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage numerous priorities within a fast-paced environment.

  • A combination of education, training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
