Human Resources Manager
Janko Hospitality is look for a highly experienced Human Resources Manager. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting the overall operations of the Human Resources department enabling smooth operations in a fast-paced environment. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for directing and ensuring the efficient administration and management of the Human Resources discipline. Responsibilities will include wage/benefit administration, payroll, compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, guidance and support to management staff and hourly associates, as well as other HR functions.
Overview of Requirements:
High level knowledge of ADP Workforce
Extensive experience and knowledge in Illinois employment laws/statutes required
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
Excellent leadership abilities
Five years’ experience in Human Resources at a Manager level
Experience and expertise in handling associate relations issues
Strong Knowledge of basic employment laws/statues (ADA, FMLA, Wage/Hour, etc.)
Fluent in English and Spanish
Hotel Experience Preferred
Essential Job Functions:
Keeps current on all laws affecting human resources function and participates in developing or changing policies as needed. Oversees the employee grievance process and ensures compliance with federal, state and local labor laws.
Works closely with General Managers on human resources activities including training, compensation, benefits and team member relations.
Handles complex employee relations issues, including terminations and exit interviews, oversee and/or facilitate performance reviews and termination processes as needed.
Designs and develops the human resources agenda and workforce plan. Builds strategic talent succession plan for human resources and other areas. Actively promotes positive employee engagement with a focus on retention of talent.
Oversee the planning and facilitation of benefit enrollments, changes and terminations. Ensure that all required documents for payroll and insurance providers are processed to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of Human Resources practices and law
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Extensive knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters
Self-starting personality with an even disposition
Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
